Shopping Shenanigans

How a 2 yr old goes to the Gap for more shorts and SHOES. As told in pictures...

Owen sits at a table and colors while Mommy pays for his new clothes.

Dear Gap, thank you for this great idea of entertaining the kids while the Mama's shop!

"Mommy, I got my clothes. I need Starbucks now, please!" (Yes, he literally said this. I think he's seen Mommy in shopping action one too many times.)

Waiting on the girl @ Starbucks to finish making his beverage. He really does have the life, doesn't he?!

Chocolate Banana Vivanno Smoothie=yummy goodness

Nothing beats a cold smoothie on a hot day.

I asked Owen how his drink was and since his mouth was full this was his answer. Thumbs up!

On our way home, Owen was dancing and singing to "Billy Jo." (That would be Billy Joel)

I'm going to miss days like this when he's older...

Lions and Tigers and Rhino Butts? Oh my!

A couple weeks ago, Owen and I went to the Indianapolis Zoo. We have been to the zoo too many times to count but this particular trip was incredible. Owen turned into Cesar Millan! The animals were in awe of him. Everywhere he walked they would follow alongside the glass or fence. A penguin jumped in the water and swam over to Owen and floated against the glass just staring at O. Owen of course then put on a show of doing the Happy Feet dance for his audience of one. The walrus was giving Owen kisses through the glass and at the lion exhibit, Owen roared and the king of the jungle roared back. Not gonna lie...I almost pissed myself. My kid is the "Zoo Whisperer", y'all!

Ok, so let me explain. While standing(with a large group of people, mind you) at the White Rhino exhibit, Owen looked over to these two particular rhinos and yelled in the loudest voice ever, "Look Mommy! Rhino Butts!" Ah yes, proud mama right here. Oh but he doesn't stop there. He then needs to tell everyone we see that he saw not one, but TWO rhino butts. Oy vey, what am I going to do with this kid?! So....I thought the picture was necessary. Enjoy!

It's my birthday...

Today is my 26th birthday. All I feel about this is that I'm another year closer to 30. Pleasant outlook, right? Birthdays used to be fun and filled with cake and presents. Now, it's just another day on the calendar. But there were a few things that made this day a little less depressing. My co-workers(thanks for the yummy pitch in lunch), my bestest(thanks for the post http://justshireen.wordpress.com/), and my son for giving me a good laugh. He and I were snuggling on the couch, which is a rare occurrence because he is all boy and doesn't stop moving 'til his head hits the pillow at night. I leaned in to whisper in his ear, "I love you." He looked up at me with his big brown eyes and whispered back, "Thank you." You're welcome, Owen. YOU. ARE. WELCOME.

He might as well be a fish

I know. You're probably thinking, "Really? Another post about water?" Yes, dammit! It's been warm and b-e-a-utiful and I'm taking full advantage of it. The other day we trekked down the road to the water park and I'll let you be the judge if Owen enjoyed himself or not.

The most genuine reaction!

I like to call this one his "Heisman Trophy" pose

"Welcome to the Good Life"

Pool day 2.

The Moose is more like me than I thought. Turns out he likes to lay out just as much as Mommy. When he struck this pose I couldn't help but hear Kanye's Good Life in my head:)

The good life, let's go on a livin' spree

Buckets of Fun

Pool is open! (A few years ago, that would've been "Bar is open!") Today, Owen and I went to the pool and it was an adventure as always. When I took my child I actually thought he would get IN the pool. No no, he decided to sit on the edge and dip his feet over the edge and proceed to say, "Mommy. Too cold!" Then, Owen had one of his many "genius moments" (there will be a lot of these posted:p). He took a toy bucket, filled it with water and dumped it over his head. Not once but repeatedly. The water was too cold for him to get in but not to dump over his noggin that holds that big ole' brain of his! Like I said...genius

Owen getting annoyed at me for taking pictures. This was his reaction...I may have said, "You wanna knuckle sandwich?" one too many times.

Hi! I've joined the bandwagon.

I've decided to give this "blogging phenom" a go. My decision to do this was mainly because I'm a mommy to the most adorable but ornery 2 year old boy. Much of our family is spread across the Midwest and unfortunately don't get to see Owen(aka The Moose, O) as much. So this blog is to keep the fam up to date on the little moments, the big moments and most definitely the crazy moments. I give you...Tales from Toddlerville.
